Jerry’s Insights: Immune System Training

Sep.2025 by Jerry Simons, PA

At our office, one of the most common types of patients we see are those living with chronic disease — often linked to infections like COVID, Epstein-Barr, Lyme, Bartonella, or even recurrent coughs and colds. These individuals aren’t just exhausted from being sick. They’re also worn down by the endless cycle of treatments they’ve already endured: prescriptions, antibiotics, IVs, injections, and everything in between.

We call this group the “been there, done that crowd.” They’ve seen it all, tried it all, and are often left feeling hopeless. That’s where we come in with a different perspective.

A Unique Look at the Immune System

At Morrison Health, we take the time to explore your immune system in depth. It’s easy to forget how busy your immune system really is. Just to name a few:

  • Immunoglobulins that strengthen your defenses.

  • White blood cells like neutrophils (for bacteria) and eosinophils.

  • Complement proteins that help everything work together.

  • Interleukins and T helper cells that coordinate the response.

It’s a sophisticated army designed to keep you healthy. And just like with modern cancer immunotherapy, the idea is simple: help your immune system do its job better — identify the bad guys and clear them out.

Why T Cells and Natural Killer Cells Matter

Among the most important soldiers are T cells and natural killer cells. We test for both in your blood. These cells are often found to be weakened or exhausted in people struggling with chronic infections.

This opens the door for a unique strategy: natural, homeopathic-style immunotherapy. While not FDA-regulated and not considered prescription medicine, it’s something we use carefully in conjunction with our standard treatments.

Introducing nosodes Therapy

You may have heard of nosodes — homeopathic preparations made from diluted forms of pathogens. The concept is similar in spirit to immunotherapy used in cancer care. Instead of killing germs directly, these diluted nosodes are designed to stimulate the immune system — particularly T cells — as if they were encountering a new exposure but in a controlled way.

By “training” your immune system this way, the goal is to help it wake up, rebuild strength, and start clearing out old infections.

We use DesBio series kits to deliver this therapy. Each kit contains 10 numbered bottles in specific dilutions, taken in a specific order. Think of it like a training program for your immune system — gradually strengthening its capacity to respond.

Why This Matters for Chronic Disease Patients

If you’ve tried everything and still feel sick, hopeless, or directionless, this therapy offers something different. Instead of suppressing symptoms or endlessly layering new prescriptions, NOSOD therapy aims to reset and retrain your immune system so your body can fight back naturally.

And this isn’t a “set it and forget it” approach. We regularly monitor progress with blood work, physical exams, and follow-ups. This way, we know whether your immune system is responding, and we adjust treatment accordingly.

The Takeaway

Chronic illness takes a toll not just on your health but also on your hope. By combining standard treatments with natural immune retraining therapies like the DesBio series kits, we’re able to offer patients a fresh path forward.

This approach is about giving your immune system the tools and training it needs to finally do the job it was built to do.
